Routledge Education Author of the Month July 2012: Peter Davies

Peter worked at the University of Huddersfield for 20 years between 1991 and 2011, specializing in French and European history, and also the history of sport; cricket in particular. During his work there, he not only wrote 11 books for Routledge, but he also received a £50,000 grant from the HLF/University of Huddersfield in 2004 to study the social history of West Yorkshire cricket and was honored with the University of Huddersfield Teaching Fellowship award.

Peter led a teaching career which was incredibly varied. His specialist subjects included teaching modern European and British history, focussing on the extreme right in France and the French Revolution, modern French and German history, plus the social history of sport.

Peter's new book, the second edition of Enlivening Secondary History is available now!
